Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Remote | Experience Level: Mid to Senior (4+ years)
Build the infrastructure that powers autonomous agents globally. You'll design and develop Envoy—our agentic remote compute provider that enables distributed deployment and orchestration of autonomous agents at scale.
About the Role
Envoy is a distributed compute platform built from the ground up for autonomous agents. As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you'll architect and build systems that deploy, coordinate, and scale intelligent agents across regions, handling the unique challenges of agent-centric infrastructure: low-latency execution, state management, distributed coordination, and intelligent resource allocation.
You'll work on:
- Distributed agent deployment - Design systems for deploying agents globally with zero-latency execution
- Agent orchestration - Build control planes for coordinating multi-region agent networks
- Autonomous resource allocation - Create systems that dynamically allocate compute resources based on agent demand
- State management - Build persistent systems for agent state and context
- Cloud abstraction - Design cloud-agnostic infrastructure supporting AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-premises
- Observability & monitoring - Build systems to monitor and understand distributed agent behavior
About You
Required:
- 4+ years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or systems engineering
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes, container orchestration, or distributed systems
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Proficiency in Go, Rust, Python, or Java
- Experience designing and operating systems at scale
- Solid understanding of networking, storage, and compute infrastructure
Nice to Have:
- Experience with agent-based systems or autonomous system infrastructure
- Background in machine learning infrastructure or MLOps
- Experience with distributed consensus or state management systems
- Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects
- Experience with edge computing or hybrid cloud architectures
What We're Looking For
- Deep expertise in designing cloud systems for scale and reliability
- Understanding of distributed systems challenges (coordination, state consistency, failure recovery)
- Experience designing systems with unique architectural requirements
- Strong focus on observability and operational excellence
- Ability to wear multiple hats—from architectural design to hands-on implementation
- Passion for building infrastructure that enables intelligent applications at scale
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Envoy's core distributed compute platform
- Build agent deployment and orchestration systems
- Architect multi-region failover and load balancing for agent workloads
- Implement agent state management and persistence layers
- Develop monitoring and observability for distributed agent networks
- Optimize for low-latency agent execution across regions
- Collaborate with security and product teams on requirements
- Build tools and SDKs for agent operators and users
